Gomorrah: The Origins premieres on Sky and NOW on 28 July

Directed by Marco D’Amore, the six-part Sky Original drama will premiere on Sky and NOW in the UK on July 28. This prequel to the acclaimed Gomorrah crime saga depicts the criminal coming-of-age of a young Pietro Savastano and will be available in both English-dubbed and subtitled versions.

Set in 1977 Naples, the series follows Pietro Savastano’s criminal education—a tough city kid from the poorest areas of Secondigliano. As he and his friends survive through petty theft, Pietro aspires to be like the local crime boss Angelo ‘A Sirena. Gaining the boss’s favour, he gets caught in a dangerous power struggle that makes him question whether a life of violence is his true destiny or if his love for Imma offers another path.

Produced by Sky Studios and Cattleya, part of ITV Studios, the series expands the Sky Original crime saga based on Roberto Saviano’s bestselling novel “Gomorra,” published by Arnoldo Mondadori Editore.

Created by Leonardo Fasoli, Maddalena Ravagli, and Roberto Saviano, the series has Marco D’Amore directing the first four episodes and acting as artistic supervisor, while Francesco Ghiaccio directs the final two episodes. Beta Film handles international distribution.
