Tom Morgan, from Glastonbury Completes his 177 Mile Charity Walk

Tom Morgan (67) from Glastonbury undertook an extraordinary challenge to support the charity Little Hearts Matter, in memory of Jack Negus.

On Friday, 28th, August, Tom began his journey to walk the entire 177-mile Offa’s Dyke National Trail, finishing it on Monday.

Tom’s relationship with Jack spans many years. Fourteen years ago, he nominated Jack for a BBC Pride of Somerset Youth Award, which Jack later received.

Jack was a beloved supporter of LHM, actively fundraising and raising awareness for the charity. Walking Offa’s Dyke was also on Jack’s bucket list, so Tom’s choice to walk the entire route in his memory added extra significance.

177 miles in less than 90 hours is an impressive feat.

Jack’s Story

In 2025, the world lost an amazing person in Jack Negus from Ashcott. At just 31, Jack brought so much to so many in his short life and inspired everyone who knew him. Walking the 177-mile Offa’s Dyke National Trail was on Jack’s bucket list, but he didn’t complete it because his life was cut short.

Jack raised significant funds for Little Hearts Matter, a national charity that supports and informs people affected by a single ventricle heart condition, which affects children born with only half a functioning heart. The organisation aims to support these children and their families while increasing awareness of their needs.

Tom has currently raised £1,968 out of his £2000 goal.
