Tom, a 13-year-old young man who is part of Gorgons Carnival Club, has decided he wants to try and raise £1,000 towards his cart this year.
He’s looking for 100 people to sponsor one of his carnival lights for £5.
If he can fill all 100 lights, that’s £500 towards his target.
Like all of the carnival clubs, the money needed to build the cart, make costumes and actually get them out on the road doesn’t magically appear — it’s raised throughout the year through fundraising, donations and a lot of hard work.
